About Us

     
    THE NEW RIVER VALLEY CHAPTER was founded in Blacksburg in 1971. Our membership reflects the diverse economic interests characteristic of our region. We serve the New River Valley including Blacksburg, Christiansburg, Dublin, Floyd, Giles, Pulaski, and Radford. We have over 100 members representing an array of business, government and university professionals. In addition, we support two student SHRM chapters at Radford University and Virginia Tech. 

     

    MEETING INFORMATION

    **We have transitioned to hybrid (online and in person) meetings**

    We meet on the third Thursday of each month; at 12:00pm.   We provide a warm, informal environment in which to discuss issues of professional significance. Recent topics covered have included affirmative action, diversity, legislative updates and salary and benefit strategies.
