What Employers Need to Know</strong></h2> <p><strong>Session Content: </strong>Pharmacy Benefit Manager (PBM) serves as an intermediary between the insurance company or third party administrator and the pharmacies. PBMs are the only subset of healthcare that remains unregulated. They determine pharmacies in the plan's network, develop the formulary, and negotiate price rebates with drug manufacturers. Manufacturers provide rebates in exchange for having specific medications </p> <p><strong>Learning Objectives: </strong></p> <p>Members will learn how PBMs can affect their bottom line and what their company can do to combat the continual increases of healthcare costs.</p> <p><strong>About the Speakers: </strong></p> <p><img alt="" src="/sites/nrv.shrm.org/files/Becky%20Pollard%201.jpg" style="width: 250px; height: 313px; float: left;" /></p> <p>Becky Pollard is the President of Business Solutions and a licensed Consultant and Benefits Specialist, whose insight and leadership has made Business Solutions the premiere employee benefits company and one of the only companies that assigns service representatives to every client.</p> <p>Becky’s insurance background began in 1969 as a claims processor for General Electric. In 1979 she became a practice manager with a local medical practice and moved on in 1984 as a marketing and service representative for Trigon Blue Cross Blue Shield. As a result of starting her own consulting and brokerage firm in 1989, Becky has worked with the nation’s largest insurance carriers and has been instrumental in developing solutions to employers’ most difficult and stressful problems.</p> <p>Becky has served as membership chair for Executive Women International and sits on the Board of Directors for Bethany Hall and Girls Rock Roanoke. Becky is a past Board Member of the Salem Roanoke-County Chamber and a past member of the Salem Rotary Club. Becky is also an active member of the National Association of Health Underwriters.</p> <hr /> <p><img alt="" src="/sites/nrv.shrm.org/files/Tracy%20Hale.jpg" style="float: left; width: 250px; height: 350px;" />Tracy joined Business Solutions in February of 2016. Tracy Hale is a 2002 graduate of Emory & Henry College holding a Bachelors degree in Communications. Tracy previously served at Virginia Lutheran Homes since July of 2006 as the Director of Human Resources, and has nearly 15 years of Human Resources experience. Prior to joining VLH, Tracy served as a Corporate & Retail Recruiter for SunTrust Bank, overseeing territories throughout SW Virginia and West Virginia. Tracy has served in multiple capacities on the Board for the Roanoke Valley Society for Human Resource Management, including President, and currently as the Marketing Chair. She serves as an member/volunteer of the Salem-Roanoke Chamber of Commerce, a board member for the Salem/Roanoke County Food Pantry, and as a co-chair for the Jill’s Buddy Camp Golf Tournament, raising funds to help partner high school students with children that are developmentally delayed.</p> <p>While serving as the Director of Human Resources at Virginia Lutheran Homes, Tracy specialized in employee engagement, retention, Workers Compensation, legal and regulatory compliance and, as a member of executive leadership, negotiated annual insurance premiums to ensure a manageable employee cost.</p>
