Tips for Impromptu Speaking
Join us and Pam White from Toastmasters as we disucss different methods for improving your impromptu speaking skills and why it's important. This will include different strategies to use for speaking "off the cuff" as well as steps to follow to improve your response. There will be opportunities for people to practice their impromptu speaking during the session.

SPEAKER’S BIO
Pam graduated from The University of Tennessee with a B.S. in Accounting and is a CPA. She began her career as an auditor with Arthur Andersen and moved on from there to hold a variety of accounting and finance positions.
Pam has worked in the telecommunication, media, energy, banking, and manufacturing industries, and has been with a variety of companies including Exxon and USA Today. She has had the opportunity to live in a number of locations and to travel extensively. Pam was an expat in Paris with Areva, the national French nuclear energy company. She is currently the Finance Director for the Slip Ring division of Moog, based in Christiansburg.
Like many professionals, giving presentations and speaking is an important part of her job. In order to improve her speaking and leadership skills, Pam joined Toastmasters, which is an organization dedicated to empowering individuals to become more effective communicators and leaders. This is accomplished at clubs which provide a supportive and positive learning experience.
In her leisure time, Pam enjoys CrossFit, hiking with her two dogs, and singing in a choir.
